Román Jáquez Liranzo presenta su renuncia como presidente del Tribunal Superior Electoral (TSE), en la víspera de su juramentación, este miércoles, como presidente de la Junta Central Electoral (JCE).
Jáquez Liranzo hizo efectiva la renuncia en una carta que envió este martes al presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, en su calidad de presidente del Consejo Nacional de la Magistratura (CNM), con atención a la jueza de la Suprema Corte de Justicia (SCJ), Nancy Salcedo, secretaria del CNM y copia a los jueces titulares y suplentes del TSE.
En la misiva, explica que el motivo de la renuncia es que a partir del miércoles 11 de noviembre, asumirá la presidencia de la JCE para el período 2020-2024, designación que le confirió el Senado el miércoles 4 de noviembre.
“Agradezco de todo corazón la designación que hiciera el Consejo Nacional de la Magistratura el 21 de julio de 2017, cuando me designaron juez presidente del Tribunal Superior Electoral, desde donde asumí y ejercí mis funciones apegado a la Constitución, las leyes, los principios democráticos y la integridad, en pos del fortalecimiento del Estado social y democrático de derecho en la República Dominicana”, señala Jáquez Liranzo en la comunicación.
