Autoridad Portuaria toma medidas en puertos por Huracán Fiona

Puerto Rio Haina, SDO. La Autoridad Portuaria Dominicana dispuso el cierre temporal de las operaciones de los puertos para la entrada de embarcaciones hasta que las condiciones meteorológicas lo permitan, esto debido al paso del Huracán Fiona, que afecta al país desde la madrugada de este lunes.

Mediante un comunicado, Jean Luis Rodríguez, director de APORDOM, informó que atendiendo a las recomendaciones del Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE y atendiendo a la disposición del Gobierno), se suspenden también las labores de áreas no esenciales en este tipo de situaciones como el personal administrativo y de oficina.

“Con estas medidas preventivas de seguridad buscamos salvaguardar la vida de nuestros colaboradores, del personal de los puertos y de las embarcaciones que es lo más importante, también tomar las medidas necesarias para resguardar la infraestructura y evitar los posibles daños”, afirmó el servidor público.

De igual modo se establece que el personal operativo de los puertos seguirá laborando de forma normal debido a lo necesario que representa este segmento para la prevención, supervisión y correcta administración de esas locaciones.

Jean Luis Rodríguez manifestó que la Comisión de Emergencias de APORDOM volverá a evaluar estas medidas conformen avance el evento meteorológico a su paso por el país para determinar que otras medidas podrían tomarse en los puertos.

Agregó que la comisión de Emergencia se mantiene en sesión permanente y se han activaron los planes de protección en cada terminal portuaria, a los fines de proteger la vida de los trabajadores, evitar daño a las naves, las instalaciones y poder actuar de manera oportuna frente a cualquier eventualidad.
