Santo Domingo. 28-04-2021.- La Comisión Permanente de Asuntos Agropecuarios y Agroindustriales del Senado de la República, que preside el senador José Antonio Castillo (San José de Ocoa), sostuvo un encuentro en el que acordó invitar al administrador del Banco Agrícola, Fernando Durán, para escuchar su opinión en torno al proyecto de Ley que establece un tope anual de un 5 % anual a las tasas de interés de los préstamos de esa entidad bancaria estatal.
El proponente de la iniciativa, senador José Antonio Castillo (San José de Ocoa), ponderó la importancia que tiene el proyecto, sobre todo para el sector agropecuario, el que mayor impacto ha tenido en los últimos años.
“Hemos acordado enviar el proyecto a las autoridades del Banco Agrícola, para que lo estudien y posteriormente acudan a esta Comisión a ofrecer su valoración del mismo. Esta es una iniciativa muy importante y más en este tiempo; entendemos que ha debido someterse con anterioridad, ya que los productores, sobre todo del sector agrícola, son quienes cargan con la parte más pesada; esta ley vendrá a traerles tranquilidad”, afirmó el legislador.
Además del presidente de la Comisión, José Antonio Castillo (San José de Ocoa), participaron en la reunión los senadores Eddy Nolasco (Valverde); Félix Bautista (San Juan); Ramón Pimentel (Montecristi); Ginnette Bournigal de Jiménez (Puerto Plata); y Lenin Valdez (Monte Plata).
