Eric Rivero revela ganaderos de carne tendrán acceso a la mejor genética

SANTO DOMINGO. Los pequeños y medianos ganaderos de leche del país están accediendo sin costo a la “mejor genética del mundo” a través del Proyecto de Mejoramiento de la Ganadería en República Dominicana (Promegan), programa que ejecuta a través del Consejo Nacional para la Reglamentación y Fomento de la Industria Lechera (Conaleche) y la Dirección General de Ganadería (DIGEGA).
 
De acuerdo a Eric Rivero, asesor del Poder Ejecutivo en materia agropecuaria, el Promegan es una visión integral del gobierno porque no solo se está fomentando la materia prima de la producción ganadera como lo es el pasto, sino que se les está poniendo la mejor genética a los pequeños y medianos productores.
 
Entre las razas lecheras en la República Dominicana existen Holstein, Pardo Suizo, Jersey, Gyr Lechera, el Guzerat Lechero, Girolando, entre otras.
 
En la de carne existen: Guzerat, que es de doble propósito (carne y leche), Brahman rojo y blanco, Brangus, entre otras buenas razas.
 
También, Eric Rivero dijo que se está cambiando la matriz energética de los centros de acopio con paneles solares, que es uno de los principales costos que tiene el ganadero.
 
“Todo esto va acompañado en lograr en el corto plazo un aumento en la producción de leche porque vamos a mejorar la productividad, vamos a mejorar la producción, vamos a mejorar la eficiencia del enfriamiento (de la leche), vamos a mejorar todos los parámetros que realmente inciden en que el productor tenga más beneficios”, expresó Rivero.
 
Agregó que la realidad social de los ganaderos es que son pequeños de menos de 15 vacas, ese es el promedio nacional, y no hay otra forma que no sea aglutinándose para poder conservar la leche.
 
*Ganadería de carne*
 
El también presidente de la Asociación de Productores de Leche (Aproleche), reveló que en los próximos meses se tendrá disponible genética de carne de la mejor calidad del mundo para apoyar a los productores del país.
 
“Una primicia, por instrucción del presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, a partir de los próximos meses vamos a tener disponible genética de carne para apoyar a los productores de carne del país con la mejor calidad del mundo a través del semen. Eso es una innovación del Promegan para este año”, expresó.  
 
Rivero ofreció las informaciones al ser entrevistado por los periodistas Joaquín Caraballo y Ana Celia Castillo en el programa Diario Agropecuario, que se transmite a través de Su Mundo TV, los domingos a las 8:00 de la mañana. 
 
Junto a Eric Rivero fueron entrevistados el doctor Geovanny Molina, director general de la DIGEGA, y Miguel Laureano, director ejecutivo del Conaleche.
 
*Conaleche*
 
Laureano resaltó la importancia de que el gobierno le esté prestando atención a los centros de acopio y consideró que es la forma del pequeño productor tener acceso al mercado de la misma forma que las grandes empresas.
 
“Los centros de acopio han democratizado el comercio de la leche, donde pequeños y medianos productores de sitios lejanos tienen acceso a los mismos mercados que las grandes plantas”, indicó.
 
Dijo que cuando se creó el Conaleche en la República Dominicana apenas había 10 centros de acopio, pero que en la actualidad hay 164, de los cuales 154 están funcionando.
 
“Eso ha permitido que más hombres del campo participen en la actividad productora de leche”, indicó.
 
Señaló que la línea noroeste es la cuenca más importante en la producción de leche del país.
 
“En San Juan de la Maguana, también, hay una gran producción de leche y es donde está ubicado el centro de acopio más importante del país, en donde se acopia en tiempo buenos hasta 21,000 litros de leches diarios”, expresó.
 
*Ganadería*
 
En cambio, Geovanny Molina, director de DIGEGA, explicó a Diario Agropecuario que esa institución tiene una participación importante en el sector ganadero, en donde se desarrollan programas de vacunas, inseminación artificial, saneamiento de las fincas, entre otros.
 
“La Dirección General de Ganadería tiene dos vertientes que es la parte sanitaria, pero también la parte de fomento y extensión, que ahí los técnicos de Ganadería son los que llevan a cabo la aplicación de la tecnología que el Promegan ofrece, por ejemplo: las inseminaciones artificiales, la programación de las vacas, la orientación en cuanto al manejo de los pastos, el tipo de pastos que se requieren, el arado de los terrenos, o sea, son los técnicos de Ganadería que ejercen esa función”, explicó el funcionario.
 
Además, dijo que Ganadería también debe velar por la calidad y el manejo de la leche en los centros de acopio, pero también cómo producir leche de mejor calidad.
 
“Ganadería cuenta con técnicos altamente calificados como médicos veterinarios, biólogos, agrónomos, apicultores y todos los técnicos que necesita el país para la aplicación y fomentos”, indicó.
 
Detalles del Promegan
El gobierno dominicano a través de la DIGEGA y el Conaleche puso en ejecución el proyecto Promegan con el cual se fomentarán 250 mil tareas de pastos y forrajes mejorados para favorecer la producción de leche y carne en el país, al tiempo que reduce los costos de producción por las disminuciones del uso de alimentos balanceados, los cuales son fabricados con insumos importados que encarecen la ración.
 
El presidente Luis Abinader lanzó el año 2022 el Promegan con una inversión de más de 700 millones en apoyo a los productores.
 
El proyecto incluye la preparación de tierra sin ningún costo para siembra de pastos, inseminación artificial para mejorar la genética bovina y la entrega de recursos para el cambio de la matriz energética a todos los centros de acopio de leche del país.
 
La meta del proyecto, que beneficiará a más de 10,000 productores bovinos, contempla la construcción de pozos tubulares para llevar agua a las fincas de manera colectiva, impactando positivamente en el desarrollo, fomento y mejora de la rentabilidad de la ganadería dominicana.
