Santo Domingo, Rep. Don.- El senador representante de Hermanas Mirabal, Bauta Rojas Gómez, acusó al Comandante General del Ejército Nacional, Mayor General Julio Ernesto Florián Pérez, de pretender destruir el modelo penitenciario que desde hace casi 20 años se viene implementando en la “Cárcel Pública Juana Núñez”.
Al agotar un turno en la sesión de este martes, el senador de la Fuerza del Pueblo, llamó también a la Procuradora General de la Republica (PGR), Mirian Germán Brito -quien es además oriunda de esta provincia- para que investigue la realidad de este recinto y así la sociedad dominicana pueda estar lo más edificadamente posible sobre lo que se está pretendiendo hacer con el mismo.
En ese sentido, Bauta expresó su inconformidad con lo que ha estado aconteciendo en los últimos días con relación a este tema, en donde el pasado viernes hubo un amotinamiento por parte de los internos de allí.
Expresó, que recientemente este modelo que se ejecuta en Salcedo, ha sido reconocido tanto por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) como por la Unión Europea, entidades estas que según el senador, han tomado este sistema como modelo para llevarlo a otras localidades tanto nacionales como internacionales.
“Hay interés de borrar eso, ya esto está llegando al imite, y es responsable de esa situación, básicamente, el Comandante General del Ejercito de la República Dominicana, y por qué yo digo eso, porque en esa cárcel que está bajo la dependencia del ENRD; porque en esa cárcel gestionada por el ERD se formó el recurso humano necesario para que decenas de internos hoy sean profesionales”, dijo el senador.
Manifestó que los internos de este recinto poseen cuentas bancarias que las han logrado acumular como consecuencia del trabajo que en fincas experimentales y de desarrollo así como en los talleres de ebanisterías y otros, logran ahorrar como fruto de sus trabajos y los cuales cuando salen en libertad, lo hacen totalmente rehabilitados y como entes productivos.
“Por razones que nosotros no acabamos de entender y se los hemos solicitado y por diferentes vías al Comandante del ERD se han hecho desaparecer todo el personal capacitado, han quitado esos programas y otros los ha limitado, ya nosotros no vemos a los internos de la cárcel Juana Núñez, haciendo sus ejercicios de madrugadas ni limpiando la ciudad, ni habilitar el Jardín Botánico de la provincia, producto alimento para la merienda y el desayuno escolar, y así no se construye la democracia ni un país”, precisó el legislador.
De igual manera, el senador llamó a la PGR para que asuma su rol y “enfrente ese atropello contra los derechos humanos, al pueblo de mi provincia que continuemos mirando de lejos, que nada ni nadie podrá destruir los escenarios de vivir en paz, de crear una cultura de paz en una provincia que trabaja y que ama el progreso”, dijo.
Finalmente, el legislador demandó de la cámara alta, para que a través de la Comisión de Justicia, una delegación visite la Cárcel Pública Juana Núñez, para que contacte la realidad de lo que pasa con relación al tema que mantiene atentos a toda la población mirabalense.
