Ricardo De los Santos: “El Presidente me pidió apoyara a Eduardo Estrella “

El senador de la provincia Sánchez Ramírez, Ricardo De los Santos, reveló que el presidente Luis Abinader le pidió que cediera en sus aspiraciones de presidir el Senado de la República y respaldara la decisión que había tomado el Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) de apoyar al ingeniero Eduardo Estrella, para que continúe un año más al frente del Senado.

De los Santos informó en el programa La Expresión de Cotuí Radio, que producen los sábados de 8:00 a 9:00 de la mañana por los 92.5 de Dorada FM, los comunicadores, Eduardo Rosario y Antonio Rosario, que a pesar de que contaba con la simpatía de la mayoría de los senadores para ocupar la presidencia de la Cámara Alta, decidió acoger la solicitud del presidente Abinader. 

“Estuve reunido con el presidente y me dijo que había un acuerdo y que él me pedía que nosotros lo apoyara con eso y claro está, luego de presentar nuestra posición accedimos, no sólo a la solicitud del mandatario, sino también a la de una amplia comisión de la Dirección Ejecutiva del Partido, porque al final entendimos que nunca se puede colocar el interés particular por encima del interés general “, afirmó el senador.    

El representante de Sánchez Ramírez destacó que, aunque no estaba de acuerdo con la continuación del ingeniero Estrella en la Presidencia del Senado, la decisión del PRM es legítima y amparada por sus estatus y que él cuando se juramentó en esa organización, juró cumplir y hacer cumplir sus estatus y ordenanzas.

Continúa con sus aspiraciones 

El legislador reiteró que aspiraba al relevo y espera que en algún momento lo será, por lo que continúa firme con sus aspiraciones de convertirse en el primer senador de Sánchez Ramírez en ocupar la Presidencia del Senado.

“Continuamos con nuestras aspiraciones, nos sentimos sumamente agradecidos con el pueblo dominicano, muy especialmente con los sanchezramirenses, podemos decir que todo el país estaba esperando que nosotros ocupáramos esa posición y la provincia Sánchez Ramírez ni se diga “, manifestó De los Santos.

Precisó que la Comisión Ejecutiva del PRM votó e hizo púbico el compromiso con la alternancia en la presidencia de las cámaras para el próximo período.

Aclaró, además, que no ocupará ninguna posición en el bufete directivo del Senado que no sea la presidencia.
