El procurador general de la República, Jean Alain Rodríguez, inició con la entrega de una serie de obras, antes de que se cumpla el periodo de su gestión en la Procuraduría General de la República (PGR).
Este jueves la Procuraduría informó que Jean Alain Rodríguez entregó 33 viviendas en el sector Las Barías del municipio San Antonio de Guerra a igual número de familias reubicadas de la comunidad de Las Parras de ese mismo municipio, donde fue construido el complejo penitenciario La Nueva Victoria que será inaugurado este viernes 7 de agosto.
Al hacer entrega de las casas, el procurador dijo que cumplen con la promesa de garantizar que cada una de las familias reubicadas cuenten con una vivienda digna y con los espacios requeridos para tener una mejor calidad de vida, expresa un comunicado de prensa.
Rodríguez explicó que las viviendas cuentan con tres habitaciones cada una, un baño, cocina, sala-comedor, área de lavado y jardinería.
Además, detalló que en las áreas comunes disponen de un templo para actividades religiosas y un salón multiusos con baños para damas y caballeros, una cancha mixta para la práctica de actividades de basketball y volleyball, un tanque elevado de agua potable, área verde y planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales.
Tras iniciar la entrega paulatina de las llaves de sus respectivas viviendas, los beneficiarios que las recibieron se mostraron satisfechos y complacidos de poder contar con una vivienda.
A través del comunicado de prensa la Procuraduría destacó que las 33 familias están siendo reubicadas para ejecutar el más grande proyecto del Plan de Humanización del Sistema de Penitenciario, como lo es La Nueva Victoria, cumpliendo así una gran demanda de la sociedad dominicana, que por años venía requiriendo la construcción de la obra, que vendrá a acabar con la sobrepoblación y el hacinamiento persistente en la Penitenciaría Nacional de La Victoria.
Con relación al recinto penitenciario de La Nueva Victoria, que albergará a más de 8,500 internos, la Procuraduría destacó que eficientizará el sistema penitenciario, ya que fue concebida para garantizar que los privados de libertad reciban los programas de rehabilitación que requieran para asegurar su recuperación y que éstos no vuelvan a reincidir en el delito una vez obtengan su libertad.
El procurador resaltó que la construcción de este moderno complejo penitenciario contribuirá con el desarrollo del municipio de Guerra, garantizando mejores servicios de electricidad y agua potable, y contribuirá a elevar los niveles de seguridad en la zona, incluyendo la seguridad vial.
