Jean Rodríguez, inaugurará este lunes a las 10: 00 de la mañana, la primera fase del complejo penitenciario La Nueva Victoria, construida en la comunidad de Las Parras, Municipio San Antonio de Guerra, provincia Santo Domingo.
En su invitación a los medios de comunicación, el Procurador destaca que “este será un acto histórico para el país porque nos encamina de manera significativa hacia el fin del hacinamiento y la sobrepoblación que por décadas afectaron a la vieja Penitenciaría Nacional de La Victoria, que alberga a más de 7 mil internos”.
“Con esta construcción se avanza de manera vertiginosa hacia un sistema caracterizado por el respeto a los derechos humanos y a la dignidad de las personas privadas de libertad”.
El acto inaugural comprende la primera fase de La Nueva Victoria, la más grande obra que se construye dentro del Plan de Humanización del Sistema Penitenciario para albergar de manera adecuada a más de 8,500 privados de libertad y ofrecerles los programas de rehabilitación que requieran para que puedan reintegrarse de manera positiva a la sociedad y así lograr disminuir su reincidencia en el delito y mayor seguridad para todos los dominicanos, expresa el doctor Jean Alain Rodríguez.
El 20 de febrero del 2020 el Procurador Jean Alain Rodriguez dio el primer picazo a la construcción del moderno centro de corrección y rehabilitación que conlleva una inversión de RD$6,372,083.31.
La Victoria será un moderno recinto donde los privados de libertad estarán esparcidos y dispondrán de espacios con dispensarios médicos preparados, a fin de tener un mejor control de una eventual infección, recibirán programas para su total rehabilitación y reinserción positiva a la sociedad.
Asimismo, disponibilidad de espacios adecuados con áreas para recibir programas educativos, canchas deportivas, talleres, área para agricultura, celdas para personas con discapacidad, así como de máxima seguridad.
