Presidente Liga Municipal amplía lazos con municipalismo latinoamericano

El presidente de la Liga Municipal Dominicana y recién electo vicepresidente de la Unión Iberoamericana de Municipalistas (UIM), Víctor D´Aza, fue el portavoz, en nombre del municipalismo iberoamericano, de una propuesta de apoyo al alcalde de San José, Costa Rica, Johnny Araya, durante la sesión del Buró Ejecutivo de la Federación Latinoamericana de Ciudades, Municipios y Asociaciones de Gobiernos Locales (FLACMA).

Un llamado para que la justicia de Costa Rica sea imparcial en el proceso de investigación que se abre en contra de varios alcaldes de ese país y se garantice el Estado de Derecho; solicitando que sea enviada a la Unión de Gobiernos Locales de Costa Rica (UNGL) para que se encargue de entregarla y hacerla pública en su país, lo cual fue aprobado a unanimidad.
 
Asimismo Víctor D’Aza y el conjunto de la delegación dominicana que participa en el Buró ejecutivo de FLACMA así como en la Asamblea de la Unión Iberoamericana de Municipalistas (UIM) que tuvieron lugar en el municipio de Orizaba en México, solicitaron que tanto el Congreso de la UIM como la cumbre de Alcaldes latinoamericanos que organiza FLACMA para el 2023, sean realizados en República Dominicana.
 
Con la elección del Presidente de la Liga Municipal Dominicana como Vicepresidente de la UIM, los ayuntamientos y juntas de distritos municipales tienen una voz de respeto y compromiso en los organismos internacionales que le abrirá las puertas para el acceso a importantes proyectos de cooperación.
