La noche de este viernes el presidente Luis Abinader anunció que donará su salario cada mes, a una causa social, medida que se agrega a la decisión que anteriormente había adoptado de renunciar a los gastos de representación.
Asimismo, planteó reducir al 50% los recursos económicos que el Estado entrega a los partidos a través de la Junta Central Electoral (JCE).
En su alocución al país a través de una cadena de radio y televisión, el gobernante reconoció que el sacrificio que hace el pueblo dominicano por las dificultades que vive el país, debe ser emulado por sus representantes públicos.
Precisó que “los sacrificios que hace el pueblo dominicano, tienen que ser acompañados por los de sus representantes públicos. Esa es la mejor manera de servir a nuestro país, estar al lado de los nuestros”.
“También les informo de otra importante decisión: voy a proponer al Congreso una rebaja del 50%, en la asignación que se da a los partidos políticos. El próximo año no es electoral y los partidos podemos esperar, pero los dominicanos no”, significó.
Dijo que con el dinero que se ahorrará con esta medida se destinará a la construcción de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) en la provincia Santo Domingo Este.
Se recuerda que en la actualidad la rectoría de la UASD y el ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este trabajan en la construcción de las edificaciones para el recinto universitario.
Agregó que “la coyuntura que estamos atravesando nos está exigiendo un esfuerzo heroico. La pandemia nos ha puesto muchos obstáculos por delante, pero los estamos superando. Y al mismo tiempo, debemos cambiar las estructuras del país que demandan una reforma urgente”.
Abinader dijo que el pueblo dominicano es resistente y encarna los mejores valores de compromiso, lucha y solidaridad.
Sostuvo que desde el gobierno tiene en marcha numerosas políticas públicas para controlar el virus, relanzar la economía, salir más fortalecidos y en mejor posición.
El presidente, en la tercera alocución a la población en sus 60 días de gobierno, expresó que “todas estas acciones son pensando en recuperar y crear más empleo para los dominicanos”.
Resaltó las iniciativas que impulsa el gobierno para encaminar la economía nacional, tales como los planes educativos, sanitarios y turísticos.
Significó las colaboraciones entre los sectores público y privado, para las reformas de las estructuras estatales y la elaboración del presupuesto para 2021.
El mandatario recordó que como lo expuso en su mensaje a la nación el pasado 8 de octubre, “el gobierno será el primero en dar ejemplo y mostrar su compromiso y solidaridad con la situación que atraviesa nuestro país”.
“El camino es largo, pero conseguiremos llegar a la meta juntos, sin dejar a nadie atrás y con el firme convencimiento de haber tenido un comportamiento ético y ejemplar”, acotó Abinader al finalizar su breve discurso.
