Presidente Abinader llama al pueblo dominicano a disfrutar las navidades en familia y con prudencia

Santo Domingo.- El Presidente Luis Abinader llamó hoy al pueblo dominicano a disfrutar las navidades, pero hacerlo con prudencia, junto a sus familias y seres queridos y de buena forma.

«Feliz Navidad, un año nuevo 2023 de salud, de esperanza y de éxitos para todos los dominicanos, como estoy seguro que Dios nos va ayudar a tenerlo», expresó.

El Presidente Abinader habló en estos términos al concluir el acto de entrega de 25 camionetas y 30 motores, con una inversión de 111 millones de pesos, que serán utilizados para labores de patrullaje y prevención de la policía de turismo.

El mandatario aseguró que el país está avanzando y que lo seguirá haciendo, al tiempo de agregar que todos los retos que hay los seguirá enfrentando para el próximo año.

En tanto, el Ministro de Turismo, David Collado, precisó que el proceso de licitación se realizó coordinado con la red de universidades de la República Dominicana que encabeza el Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, así como con la Iglesia católica y la adventista, para tener siempre la transparencia en todos los procesos llevados a cabo en la institución.

Sostuvo que con esta inversión se lleva a cabo el plan de fortalecimiento y reforma de la policía turística, para garantizar la seguridad de los turistas en los diferentes destinos del país.

De igual forma, anunció que para el año 2023 se realizará un aumento salarial para los policías turisiticos. Además, se impartirán cursos de diferentes idiomas y entrenamientos técnicos.

Transformación y mejora de la policía turística

De su lado, el director de la Policía de Turismo (POLITUR), general de brigada Minoru Matsunaga, destacó que estas acciones están enmarcadas en el desarrollo de la reforma policial que lleva a cabo la Presidencia de la República y el compromiso asumido por el Ministerio de Turismo con la institución que dirige, para la transformación y mejora de la dignidad del personal de la policía turística.

Matsunaga explicó que estos vehículos serán incorporados de inmediato a las labores de patrullaje y prevención de la policía de turismo en los diferentes destinos turísticos del país y que, en lo adelante se instalarán equipos de comunicación digital de última generación, GPS, centellas y altoparlantes.

Asimismo, el presidente de la Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de República Dominicana (Asonahores), David Llibre, catalogó el momento como histórico por contar con los vehículos y equipamientos en los polos turísticos, lo cual fortalece al país como un destino completo en la región.

Asistieron al acto, el director de la Policía Nacional, mayor general Eduardo Alberto Then; el contralor general de la República, Catalino Correa; el presidente de la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD), contralmirante José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, y la viceministra de Gestión de Destino, Patricia Mejía.
