La Oficina Nacional de Meteorología informo que el huracán Sam se encuentra distante del territorio dominicano, no obstante, arrastrará nubosidad hacia el país, combinándose con la vaguada en la troposfera media y alta.
Por ello, de acuerdo al organismo, provocará en horas de la tarde aguaceros que serán de moderados a fuertes localmente con tormentas eléctricas y ráfagas de viento en ocasiones sobre las regiones nordeste, sureste (Incluyendo el Gran Santo Domingo), noroeste, cordillera Central y la zona fronteriza.
Mientras que, informan que continúan dando seguimiento Sam, el cual lleva una categoría 4, con vientos máximos sostenidos de 230 km/h, ubicado a unos 555 kilómetros al este/noreste de las Antillas Menores y moviéndose hacia el noroeste a unos 19 km/h. «Este sistema no representa peligro para el país».
También el organismo informó que observa la tormenta tropical Víctor con viento máximos sostenido de 75 km/h, se ubica a unos 885 km al sur/suroeste de las islas de Cabo Verde y movimiento hacia oeste/noroeste a unos 20 km/h.
