Ministerio de Salud Pública notifica nuevo caso de viruela símica; paciente con cólera evoluciona satisfactoriamente

Santo Domingo.- El Ministerio de Salud Pública y Asistencia  Social (MISPAS) notificó este sábado a la población que en la tarde del viernes 21 de octubre del presente año se ha identificado una persona de nacionalidad dominicana, de sexo masculino, de 18 años edad, residente en la ciudad de Puerto Plata, con signos y síntomas presuntivos de la enfermedad de la viruela símica.

A través del Viceministerio de Salud Colectiva y la Dirección General de Epidemiología, las autoridades de Salud explican que luego de presentar síntomas parecidos a los de esta enfermedad, se activó la alarma de sospecha, e inmediatamente fue sometido a las evaluaciones y pruebas de laboratorio correspondiente para confirmar o descartar el diagnóstico.

El afectado se encuentra en aislamiento en el Hospital Doctor Ramón de Lara, bajo el control del MSP. De igual manera, se realizó el cerco epidemiológico, con quienes han tenido posible contacto con dicha persona, determinándose que hasta el momento ninguna ha presentado síntomas de la enfermedad.

El paciente está estable, bajo vigilancia médica, y con el seguimiento de su especialista tratante, para garantizar la salud y cuidado del mismo.

Reporte de paciente con cólera en Higüey

El MISPAS dio a conocer el estado de salud de la paciente de nacionalidad haitiana, de 32 años de edad, ingresada en el hospital de Higüey, que fue diagnosticada con la enfermedad del cólera. Al día de hoy, sábado 22 de octubre, «presenta un cuadro clínico estable, con una notable disminución de evacuación, sobrepasando su estado de la enfermedad, por lo que ha evolucionado satisfactoriamente, pero se mantiene ingresada siendo tratada por su padecimiento renal».

Sus familiares y su bebé de meses de nacida, todos están negativos a la enfermedad del cólera.

Salud Pública explicó que mantendrá informada a la población de esta y otras enfermedades, de manera transparente y oportuna, al tiempo que exhorta a no alarmarse y mantenerse atentos a los informes de las autoridades competentes, igual que seguir las medidas de higiene.
