Santo Domingo, R.D- La Comisión Permanente de Educación, Ciencia y Tecnología de la Cámara de Diputados recibió al director general de Educación Primaria del Ministerio de Educación (Minerd), Policarpio Sánchez, en representación del Ministro de ese organismo estatal, Roberto Furcal, para que exponga su posición en torno al proyecto de ley que busca crear el Departamento de Crédito Educativo.
En su comparecencia, el funcionario expresó que este proyecto, que busca beneficiar a estudiantes de escasos recursos económicos y de alto índice académico, es bien acogido por las altas instancias del Minerd por las buenas intenciones de la pieza.
Sánchez llamó a los diputados a evaluar la posibilidad de dejar una apertura para aquellos estudiantes de zonas apartadas, de escasa proporción, que no tienen un índice académico elevado, pero que sí tienen todas las condiciones, tras puntualizar que a veces, tomar en cuenta, sólo el índice académico, crea ciertas brechas aunque suene contradictorio.
¨Un estudiante que esté en un liceo en la montaña de Jarabacoa o de Neiba, a veces no tiene un índice académico muy alto, no necesariamente porque es mal estudiante, sino porque no encuentra la oportunidad de competir o de estar a la par con ese estudiante que está en el centro de la ciudad, que lo tiene todo¨, dijo Sánchez.
Sugirió, además, que en la composición de la junta directiva se incluya como su segundo representante al ministro o ministra en funciones del Minerd a una persona que pueda ser delegada por éste e incluir un representante de la Asociación Dominicana de Rectores Educativos Privado.
En ese mismo orden, la diputada Dorina Rodríguez dijo que la pieza llega como una herramienta motivacional para que los jóvenes se ocupen en tener buenas calificaciones y así poder acceder a ese crédito educativo, logrando de esta manera mejorías en el estudiantado dominicano.
Dentro de las funciones que tendrá el Departamento de Crédito Educativo, el cual estará adscrito al Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología (MESCyT), se encuentra la promoción de servicios de crédito a estudiantes y profesionales de nivel de post-grado tanto en el interior como el exterior del país.
También busca promover servicios de crédito de estudiantes de carácter técnico que no ofrezcan en el país, recibir y presentar a organismos internacionales y al gobierno los estudiantes y profesionales dominicanos, los que llenen los requisitos exigidos, para colocarlos en organismos competentes, entre otros beneficios.
Dicha reunión de trabajo estuvo compuesta por el diputado Moisés Ayala, presidente en funciones, Brenda Mercedes Ogando Campos, Doria Yajaira Rodríguez Salazar, Kenia Felicia Bidó, Rosa Amalia Pilarte, Hamlet Melo, Rudy María Méndez y Lily Florentino.
