Danilo Medina se despidió ayer de la Presidencia de la República asegurando que se que se va con la frente en alto, de la misma forma que entró al gobierno.
El mandatario aprovechó el acto de inauguración del hospital provincial San Bartolomé de Neiba, provincia Bahoruco, donde resaltó los logros de su gestión durante estos ocho años de gobierno.
Aseguró que ha cumplido con su programa de gobierno y expresó su satisfacción por los resultados de ocho años de gestión.
“Gracias, porque me voy con la frente en alto. Me voy como entré. Trabajé más de 12 horas al día, sin un solo día de descanso. Le entregué todo mi tiempo y mi sacrificio a servirle al pueblo dominicano y me voy con la satisfacción del deber cumplido”, dijo al hacer entrega del hospital.
En lo que supone su última entrega de obra, Medina sostuvo que el hospital inaugurado no tiene nada que envidiar a ningún centro privado de la República Dominicana. Insistió en que su satisfacción a partir del próximo lunes 17 será caminar por las calles del país como un ciudadano ordinario, recibir el saludo de sus compatriotas y que le digan “Gracias Danilo porque en tu gobierno yo elevé mis condiciones de vida”.
Obras sin terminar
Lamentó no poder entregar, debido al Covid-19, una gran cantidad de obras en diversos puntos del país, entre las que destacó la presa de Monte Grande, la Ciudad Sanitaria Luis Eduardo Aybar, algunos hospitales regionales en las provincias Duarte, Santiago y San Pedro de Macorís, así como las circunvalaciones de Azua y de San Francisco de Macorís.
El país sembrado de obras
Danilo Medina, aseguró que no existe un lugar en el país “donde la mano amiga” del gobierno no haya llegado.
Precisó que el país “está sembrado de escuelas en todo el territorio. Prometí que iba a construir 28 mil aulas y ya he entregado 25 mil. Hay 500 centros más que están en construcción con un total de 11 mil aulas que totalizan 36 mil, 8 mil por encima de las que prometí en la campaña electoral de 2012”.
Dijo que un maestro que ganaba 25 mil pesos, está ganando 49 mil y un maestro de secundaria, que ganaba 29 mil, está ganando 52 mil.
Además del hospital de Neiba, el presidente Medina también entregó una Escuela Vocacional de las Fuerzas Armadas y la Policía Nacional y el Puesto de Chequeo Fuerza Tarea Conjunta e Interagencial Vicente Noble, en la provincia Barahona.
Afirma que transformó la agropecuaria del país
Medina también destacó que ha transformado la agropecuaria, dando a los campesinos instrumentos para vivir. Dijo que el país produce 85% de lo que consume, más de 600 mil tareas fueron reforestadas, además sostuvo que se han creado 125 mil empleos por año. Expresó que se han creado unos 13 mil espacios penitenciarios, poniendo fin al hacinamiento en las cárceles, aplicando políticas públicas ajustadas a necesidades del pueblo.
