Esta madrugada próximo a las costas de San Pedro de Macorís, La Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) con apoyo de la Armada de República Dominicana, de varias agencias de inteligencia, y con la coordinación del Ministerio Público, se incautó de 456 paquetes de cocaína durante un operativo de intervención marítima.
En el operativo fueron detenidos dos dominicanos a bordo de una lancha conteniendo los 456 paquetes de la droga. Las unidades navales con los miembros de la DNCD y de la Armada Dominicana, lograron interceptar y capturar la lancha a unas 17 millas náuticas al sur de San Pedro de Macorís, por donde los criollos tenían el propósito de desembarcar con el alijo de droga.
Tras ser abordada, en el interior de la embarcación los agentes ocuparon 18 sacos conteniendo los paquetes de la sustancia, dos motores fuera de borda, uno de ellos de 200 Hp de fuerza y otro de 75, siete bujías, una linterna, un arma de fabricación casera (Chilena), tres celulares, dos GPS, una brújula de navegación, cinco garrafones de gasolina, una neverita con agua y bebidas energizantes, comestibles, entre otras evidencias.
De inmediato las autoridades no dieron a conocer los nombres de los dos dominicanos detenidos en el operativo.
Se informo que por instrucciones de la presidencia de la DNCD, las investigaciones de este caso serán profundizadas, con miras a dar con todos los que podrían estar involucrados en el cargamento de cocaína.
