Director del INAPA: Dos millones más de dominicanos reciben agua potable

Punta Cana. – El director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potables y Alcantarillados (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud, participó en el XXXVIII Congreso Interamericano de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental (AIDIS), durante el cual recapituló los avances en materia de agua potable y saneamiento en el país.

En medio de su presentación, el funcionario realizó un recuento de las obras ejecutadas por la institución en pro de la mejora de la calidad de vida de todos los dominicanos.

«Dos millones de dominicanos más reciben el preciado líquido en sus hogares. Lo que estamos haciendo es la mayor revolución en materia de agua potable y saneamiento, nunca antes vista en la República Dominicana», expresó.

Arnaud destacó la importancia que reviste la ejecución de varias obras en materia de saneamiento, como es el caso de la recién inaugurada planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales en Castillo, provincia Duarte y el saneamiento del arroyo Gurabo.

Asimismo, resaltó el nuevo proyecto que estará desarrollando el INAPA con el plan piloto de una planta desalinizadora en la costa norte del país; iniciativa que tendrá gran impacto en los residentes en esta región, así como en el turismo que esta zona ofrece.

La Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental (AIDIS) desarrolló el mencionado congreso en el hotel Barceló Bávaro Beach, en Punta Cana.
