El congresista de la Fuerza del Pueblo por la provincia Santiago también cuestiona que el gobierno trate de manipular a periodistas con colocación de publicidad buscando crear una falsa percepción sobre lo que realmente ocurre en el país
Santo Domingo. – El diputado Félix Michell Rodríguez condenó los maltratos que según dijo mantienen el gobierno y sus funcionarios contra los miembros de la prensa dominicana, no solamente el maltrato físico como lo han denunciado el Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas y otros gremios, sino de la intención de manipular opiniones.
El congresista de la Fuerza del Pueblo reveló que dos directores de medios de su provincia Santiago, le confesaron que han recibido llamadas para que cancelen a periodistas que tienen programas o trabajan en sus medios y de otros que son intimidados para que no hablen en contra del gobierno.
“Esto es grave, porque la prensa es transparencia y sin la prensa no hay democracia, es una violación a la Constitución de la República Dominicana y un atentado a la prensa de nuestro país”, dijo Félix Michel Rodríguez.
Al tomar un turno en el hemiciclo, el diputado de Santiago, también cuestionó las altas sumas de dinero que el gobierno está destinando para publicidad, que asegura lo hace para crear una falsa percepción contraria a lo que reamente está pasando en el país.
Félix Michel Rodríguez cuantificó la inversión del gobierno en más de 15 mil millones de pesos, en su gran mayoría destinada a manipular opiniones y lo peor es que muchos contratos son cuestionables, porque no van a procesos de licitación y puso como ejemplo una denuncia muy grave hecha por un veterano comunicador de Santiago.
“Y lo voy a decir aquí porque lo hizo público en un programa de televisión, me refiero a Marcos Martínez, donde denunció que se le hizo una propuesta de contrato para colocarle publicidad a cambio de que tenía que devolver una cantidad de dinero, lo que demuestra que ahí hay de todo”, dijo Rodríguez.
Finalmente, Félix Michell Rodríguez, llamó al gobierno a deponer ese comportamiento de maltrato hacia los miembros de la prensa, que se volvió a repetir con Edward Fernández, periodista de Diario Libre cuando cubría la más reciente visita a Santiago del presidente Luis Abinader, que fue sacado mientras el mandatario ofrecía declaraciones a otros medios.
