BAJO YUNA. El ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC), Deligne Ascención, anunció aquí que en la próxima semana estarán concluyendo la rehabilitación de la carretera Controbas-San Francisco de Macorís, de una importancia estratégica en la zona en cuanto a desplazamiento vehicular”.
El funcionario también, que atendiendo al reclamo de los comunitarios y de autoridades de la provincia Duarte, en breve será intervenida para proceder a su reconstrucción la carretera Arenoso-Villa Riva, la cual -reconoció- se encuentra en condiciones deplorables.
El ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascención, anunció aquí que en breve será iniciado el plan de asfaltado de caminos vecinales e interparcelarios de los distintos proyectos agrarios, como forma de dar facilidades a los miles de productores de esta zona, considerada la principal productora de arroz de República Dominicana.
Durante un acto efectuado en la comunidad El Guayabo, municipio de Arenoso, Ascención anunció que a partir de la próxima semana se estarán interviniendo de forma definitiva los caminos vecinales e interparcelarios que sean acordados con el Ministerio de Agricultura.
Un vasto plan de reconstrucción de caminos vecinales e interparcelarios se lleva a cabo en el Bajo Yuna por los ministerios de Obras Públicas y Agricultura, con la participación también del Instituto de Recursos Hidráulicos (INDRHI).
Ascención encabezó un recorrido de supervisión, junto con el ministro de Agricultura, Limber Cruz, y el director del INDHRI, Olmedo Caba, en compañía de funcionarios y técnicos. El recorrido abarcó distintas áreas del Bajo Yuna.
Un total de 64 kilómetros de caminos del Bajo Yuna fueron remozados y dejados a nivel de rodillos por Agricultura, que los entregó a Obras Públicas para su pavimentación, como parte de un acuerdo entre ambas instituciones que contempla la intervención de 4 mil kilómetros en un período de cuatro años en zonas rurales del país.
El ministro de Obras Públicas adelantó que la terminación de los trabajos iniciados por Agricultura, y que a partir de ahora tocará realizar a Obras Públicas, incluirá “un doble riesgo asfaltico y otro con un asfaltado total, y esto va a depender de las condiciones de cada uno de esos caminos”.
“Esta es una de las zonas más productivas del país, en especial en lo que se refiere al cultivo de arroz y había tenido un descuido injustificable por parte de las autoridades anteriores, y es un mandato del presidente Luis Abinader que vengamos a intervenir los caminos en esta zona”, explicó.
Anunció que el viceministro de Infraestructura Vial, Melito Santana, será responsable de los trabajos que el MOPC realizará en toda la zona del Bajo Yuna.
Mientras que el ministro de Agricultura, Limber Cruz, dijo que con esto tipo de trabajo está garantizada la soberanía agropecuaria del país, y al respecto anunció que próximamente serán licitados 1,039 caminos vecinales en todo el país.
“Hoy estamos en el Bajo Yuna, hemos venido a inaugurar el camino que une la carretera del Nordeste con El Guayabo. El campo, la gente que garantiza la seguridad alimentaria en República Dominicana necesita de la atención que no le dieron los gobiernos anteriores. Nosotros no andamos con retórica y discursos, sino que estamos llevando al campo las acciones que necesita el país”, explicó.
El ministro de Agricultura explicó que serán convertidos realidad los proyectos AGLIPO del I al III que incluyen la zona arrocera del Bajo Yuna y parte de la provincia María Trinidad Sánchez.
En tanto, al director del INDRHI, Olmedo Caba, dijo que “ahora no estamos para prometer sino para resolver, y las promesas que se hicieron serán convertidas en realidad”.
Franklin Lantigua, quien habló en representación de las distintas representaciones beneficiarias, dijo que nunca se había hecho los trabajos con la intervención que se realizan en la actualidad.
Dijo que los trabajos incluyen más de 100 kilómetros con la participación de distintas brigadas, tanto de Obras Públicas como de Agricultura.
Ignacio Luzón, quien habló en representación del proyecto agrario AC-46, y en nombre de la Federación Agraria del Limón del Yuna, dijo que en la zona hay 1,209 productores en un área de 72 mil tareas, con 89 kilómetros de caminos vecinales y 86 de canales de drenaje.
En la actividad también participaron Freddy Fernández, director de Gabinete de Agricultura; Frank Ventura, director de la Regional Nordeste; la gobernadora provincial Xiomara Cortés; Farington Piña, director de Construcción y Reconstrucción de Caminos Vecinales de Agricultura; el alcalde del distrito municipal Las Coles, Jacinto Paredes, así como técnicos de las instituciones y productores de la zona.
