Santo Domingo. 31-8-2021.- La Comisión Permanente de Educación del Senado de la República, que preside el Lic. Valentín Medrano (Independencia), acordó rendir informe favorable sobre el proyecto de Resolución que solicita al Ministerio de Educación de la República Dominicana aplicar la indexación salarial a los maestros jubilados, tal como ordena la Ley general de educación 66-67.
Esta propuesta es autoría del senador Dr. Bautista Antonio Rojas Gómez (Hermanas Mirabal), quien entiende que la ley debe aplicarse antes de que inicie el próximo año escolar.
En el considerando segundo, el proyecto precisa que es un deber del Estado establecer las condiciones necesarias para que el profesional docente alcance un nivel de vida digno, un estatus y reconocimiento social acorde con su misión y que disponga de los recursos y medios indispensables para el ejercicio y perfeccionamiento efectivos de la labor desarrollada.
En la reunión de la Comisión Permanente de Educación del Senado estuvieron los senadores Lic. Valentín Medrano (Independencia); Félix Bautista (San Juan); Melania Salvador Jiménez (Bahoruco); Lenin Valdez (Monte Plata); y Santiago José Zorrilla (El Seibo), vicepresidente del Senado.
