Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Oeste ejercerá funciones por un día desde las Ruinas de Engombe

Santo Domingo_.Con el objetivo de promover y resaltar los monumentos del municipio, la Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Oeste, anunció que el próximo 3 de febrero, realizará sus actividades administrativas desde las Ruinas de Engombe.

El alcalde, José Andújar, expresó que la actividad denominada “un día en las Ruinas de Engombe”, permitirá promover el turismo sostenible y la apreciación de los monumentos históricos que embellecen el municipio, acciones que han sido prioridad desde el inicio de su gestión.
Además del traslado de las oficinas administrativas de la alcaldía a ese monumento histórico, los regidores realizarán una sección extraordinaria donde conocerán diversos proyectos que pretende ejecutar el ayuntamiento.
Otras de las actividades que se realizarán son una misa al aire libre, donde se elevarán plegarias a Dios por la salud de los munícipes y todos los infectados de la pandemia del covid-19, de igual forma se pedira por el eterno descanso  aquellas personas que han fallecido producto del virus en el municipio.
La actividad contará con la presencia del Ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones,  Deligne Ascensión; la Ministra de Cultura, Carmen Heredia; el Ministro de Educación Roberto Dúrcal; legisladores, operadores de medias Tours, representantes de juntas de vecinos del lugar y personalidades del municipio.
La actividad se realizará bajo los protocolos sanitarios dispuestos por el Ministerio de Salud Pública, para evitar la propagación del coronavirus.
También la alcaldía reconocerá como hijos meritorios por sus trayectorias,  la Selección Nacional de Voleibal Niverka Martes,  a los artistas salseros Lugo Santana mejor conocido como «Chiquito Team Band», a David Kada y al humorista Elvis De Jesús «El Naguero».
Las Ruinas de Engombe datan del  siglo XVI cuando se fundó el ingenio de Santa Ana. Fueron declaradas un área protegida por el decreto 183-93, emitido por el entonces presidente Joaquín Balaguer, las cuales forman parte de las riquezas arquitectónicas de la República Dominicana.
Fueron declaradas, además, Monumento Nacional y posteriormente Patrimonio de la Humanidad por las Naciones Unidas.
Posee grandes riquezas históricas, ideales para la recreación y recorridos turísticos-ecológicos, gracias al encanto de los recursos naturales que posee.
