Santo Domingo, RD.- Ponderando el inicio de Circunvalación de Los Alcarrizos, el alcalde Cristian Encarnación aseguró que tras más de 20 años de espera, con la obra se cumple un compromiso histórico con el municipio de Los Alcarrizos, que esperaba con ansias la construcción de la avenida.
En su discurso durante el acto del primer picazo, que encabezó junto al ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascensión, el edil reseñó que esta avenida antes conocida como Nuevo Camino fue iniciada sin éxito en el 1996 y como legislador de la República, sometió una resolución en el 2002 ante el Congreso Nacional para que la misma fuera terminada, la cual no fue tampoco ejecutada.
Encarnación lamentó a su vez, que el gobierno pasado, no haya asumido la realización de la vía, a pesar de haber anunciado en reiteradas ocasiones el reinicio de los trabajos.
Por lo que agradeció categóricamente que el presidente Luis Abinader, desde el Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones haya destinado más de 2 mil millones de pesos para “por fin” terminar la Circunvalación de Los Alcarrizos.
De igual modo, el edil resaltó el respaldo recibido por el Concejo de Regidores para contribuir a la iniciativa que impactará en el bienestar de todos los munícipes y abrirá la puerta a la inversión y fuentes de empleos.
Durante la actividad el ministro Deligne Ascención anunció que el MOPC está en proceso de licitación de una partida de asfalto que permitirá iniciar junto al ejecutivo municipal, dentro de breve tiempo, un amplio operativo de construcción de aceras y contenes, y pavimentación de las calles.
Además definió la obra como el “el punto de lanza para el desarrollo de esta importante comunidad de la provincia Santo Domingo”, deplorando a su vez que hasta ahora lo que ha tenido el municipio es un camino vecinal “del mismo ancho y de la misma longitud de cuando Los Alcarrizos era una comunidad perteneciente al Distrito Nacional”.
Las palabras de agradecimiento fueron pronunciadas por la gobernadora provincial Altagracia Julia Drullard, quien dijo que la obra que se inicia va a ser determinante para comunicar Los Alcarrizos con el resto del país, mientras que el senador Antonio Taveras dijo que la misma va a ser fuente que va a generar empleos, y que contribuirá con el desarrollo de la comunidad.
En la actividad también estuvieron presentes el viceministro Nelson Colón, de Infraestructura Vial del MOPC; los ingenieros Héctor Then y Miguel Gómez, de la Compañía Compresores e Ingeniería (Compreica); el ingeniero Sócrates Díaz, coordinador sectorial del Partido Revolucionario Moderno; la vicealcaldesa, Yasiris Sánchez, los miembros del Concejo de Regidores, el diputado Sandro Sánchez; el alcalde de Pedro Brand, Wilson Paniagua, entre otros.

La circunvalación de Los Alcarrizos tendrá una longitud de 6.3 kilómetros y con seis carriles, iniciando en la circunvalación Santo Domingo y terminando en el cruce de la autopista Duarte con carretera a La Isabela, con una velocidad directriz de 50 kms por hora.
