1849. Ante el peligro de una nueva invasión conducida por el general Faustino Soulouque desde Haití, el jefe del ejército dominicano, general Manuel Jiménez González, declara movilización colectiva en todo el territorio.

1925. Una ley del Congreso cambia el nombre de la provincia Pacificador por el de Duarte, en homenaje al fundador de la patria.

1927. El presidente haitiano Louis Bornó llega a Santo Domingo en visita oficial de tres días, durante los cuales discute con su par dominicano Horacio Vásquez, el tema de la prohibición de los productos dominicanos a territorio haitiano.

1955. Es inaugurado en la Capital dominicana el puente colgante sobe el río Ozama, bautizado con el nombre de Radhamés Trujillo Martínez, hoy Juan Pablo Duarte, construido en algo más de RD$5.0 millones.

1961. Es creado el Frente Obrero Unido Pro-Sindicato Autónomo (FOUPSA), tenido como la primera organización sindical, luego del ajusticiamiento del tirano Rafael Trujillo.

– El Ensanche capitalino “Presidente Machado”, es rebautizado con el nombre de “Ensanche Espaillat”, en honor al Presidente Francisco Ulises Espaillat.

– El presidente Joaquín Balaguer anuncia sus pretensiones de continuar en el cargo hasta 1963.

1962. Llega al país el secretario general de la OEA, doctor José A. Mora, para asistir al simposio sobre democracia representativa y a observar el desarrollo de las elecciones dominicanas del día 20.

– El PRD pide aplazar las elecciones prevista para el 20 de diciembre, hasta el 21 de enero de 1963 y anuncia el retiro de todas sus candidaturas.

1967. Son creados los Comandos de la Resistencia Dominicana, dirigidos por el Coronel Francisco Caamaño y Amaury Germán Aristy.

1969. El hijo mayor del tirano Rafael Trujillo Molina, Ramfis Trujillo Martínez sufre un aparatoso accidente de tránsito en Madrid, España, provocándole múltiples laceraciones en gran parte de su cuerpo.

1970. Es creada mediante la Ley 70, la Dirección General de la Autoridad Portuaria Dominicana, con las funciones de controlar y administrar con sentido comercial los puertos de la República.

2005. La Cámara Penal de la Suprema Corte de Justicia anula la calificación penal dada por la Corte de Apelación del Distrito Nacional a la demanda por difamación, depositada por el senador Hernani Salazar Simó contra el doctor Marino Vinicio Castillo, pero ratifica la condena civil al pago de un millón de pesos.

2010. El periódico español El País publica los cables en poder de WikiLeaks relacionados con la República Dominicana.

2015. El Tribunal Constitucional (TC) anula en su totalidad la Ley 550-14 que instituiría un nuevo Código Penal del país, al considerar que se produjo un “vicio sustancial” del procedimiento legislativo.

– El juez de la instrucción especial de la Corte de Apelación del Distrito Nacional envía a la cárcel de Najayo al ex juez Francisco Arias Valera y a la jueza suspendida Awilda Inés Reyes Beltré, acusados de actos de corrupción y de lavado de activos.

2018. República Dominicana y Kuwait suscriben en la ciudad de Nassau, Bahamas, un acuerdo de Servicios Aéreos, mediante el cual se designa las aerolíneas Kuwait Airway, Jazeera Airways, Kuwait National Airways y Load Air International Cargo, para operación inmediata entre ambas naciones.

– La Organización Trump tiene en proyecto regresar a invertir en Cap Cana, República Dominicana, lo que críticos consideran puede crear conflicto de intereses, dada la posición de Presidente de Estados Unidos de Donald Trump, según un artículo publicado por ABC News.

2019. El Pleno de la JCE aprueba el cambio de nombre del Partido de los Trabajadores Dominicanos (PTD) a la Fuerza del Pueblo, teniendo como distintivo la flor de cayena, llevando al expresidente Leonel Fernández como su candidato presidencial, quien además preside esta entidad política.

– La Suprema Corte de Justicia decide enviar el caso de sobornos de Odebrecht a primera instancia los acusados Víctor Díaz Rúa, Conrrado Pittaluga, Andrés Bautista García, Ángel Rondón y Roberto Rodríguez, mientras el senador Tommy Galán tendrá su caso en la segunda sala penal del alto tribunal.
