(Pepca) Procuraduría Especializada de Persecución de la Corrupción Administrativa apresó la madrugada de este domingo a exfuncionarios, así como a “proveedores privilegiados y testaferros”, por supuesta corrupción administrativa.

También Carmen Magalys Medina Sánchez, exvicepresidenta del Fondo Patrimonial de las Empresas Reformadas (Fonper), y su hermano Juan Alexis Medina Sánchez, ambos hermanos del expresidente de la República Danilo Medina.
El proceso de investigación, que se desarrolla bajo los lineamientos generales y el permanente seguimiento de la procuradora de la República, Miriam Germán Brito, entró en una nueva fase con los arrestos de los primeros imputados que serán presentados ante un juez de la instrucción que deberá conocerles medidas de coerción.
La Pepca, encabezada por el procurador adjunto Wilson Camacho, dirige el proceso apoyada por la Dirección General de Persecución del Ministerio Público y su titular, la procuradora adjunta Yeni Berenice Reynoso. Ambos magistrados dirigen a un grupo de fiscales que son apoyados por miembros de un equipo élite de la Policía Nacional.
Los arrestos se empezaron a producir en horas de la madrugada bajo el amparo de órdenes judiciales que autorizan al Ministerio Público a operar.
La Procuraduría General de la República informó que mantendrá enterada a la ciudadanía de manera oportuna, siempre con el debido respeto al proceso penal y a los derechos de los imputados que fueron trasladados a la cárcel preventiva del Palacio de Justicia de Ciudad Nueva, en el Distrito Nacional.
