HAINA.- El presidente Luis Abinader supervisó este miércoles el plan de expansión que se lleva a cabo en la Refinería Dominicana de Petróleo, el cual permitirá una mayor capacidad de almacenamiento, y por más tiempo, de GLP.

Técnicos de la refinería, junto a su presidente, doctor Leonardo Aguilera, explicaron los detalles relacionados con las operaciones de la refinería, así como del plan de expansión que incluye la instalación de varias esferas de almacenaje de Gas Licuado de Petróleo, con lo que Refidomsa asegurará el abastecimiento del mercado en el país, de ese carburante.

Tras las explicaciones, en el salón de conferencia, el jefe de Estado realizó un recorrido acompañado por Aguilera, quien junto a varios técnicos, ofreció los detalles sobre la marcha de construcción de las esferas de GLP.

Los depósitos de GLP, con capacidad de 240,000 barriles distribuidos en cuatro esferas de 60,000 barriles, estarán listos a mediados del próximo año.

Con las nuevas estructuras, aumentará a 380,000 barriles la capacidad de almacenaje de GLP, lo que garantizará el abastecimiento continuo de ese importante derivado del petróleo, que tiene un uso masivo en hogares.

El Presidente Abinader también recibió explicaciones sobre los procesos que desarrolla la empresa, tanto en el refinado de crudo como en el almacenaje de los derivados que importa ya elaborados.

En un espacio del trayecto, el mandatario se detuvo para exhortar a los trabajadores a continuar sus labores con calidad y se fotografió con ellos. 

Durante el recorrido, Aguilera estuvo acompañado de Miguel Vásquez y Polibio Díaz, vicepresidente y secretario del Consejo de Administración; Yamily López, José Bautista, Claudia Fiallo, gerentes general, de Operaciones y de  Proyectos, respectivamemte.

Junto al mandatario estuvieron Lisandro Macarrulla, ministro de la Presidencia y sus asistentes Eylin Beltrán y Mercedes Pichardo; el director de Prensa del Presidente, Daniel García Archibald y Roberto Ángel Salcedo.
