Ministro de Obras Públicas pondera importancia de la obra, que tendrá un costo de RD$561 millones.
SANTO DOMINGO. – El presidente Luis Abinader y el ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, Deligne Ascención, dieron este viernes el primer palazo para dejar iniciados los trabajos de construcción para la terminación de la avenida Hípica, en el municipio Santo Domingo Este.
El proyecto contempla cuatro carriles, con un ancho de 3.50 metros, separados por una isleta central, aceras para peatones y contenes en ambos lados, con la correspondiente señalización vertical y horizontal.
La obra, que permitirá un mayor flujo vial desde la autopista de Las Américas hasta la carretera Mella, en el municipio de Santo Domingo Este, conlleva una inversión superior a los RD$561 millones.
El ministro de Obras Públicas, al hablar en el acto, detalló que los trabajos comprenden la terminación de 4.4 kilómetros para empalmar esa vía desde la autopista de San Isidro (avenida coronel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez) hasta la carretera Mella, facilitando la circulación norte-sur en esa demarcación.
Al pronunciar el discurso central del acto, Ascención indicó que la obra beneficiará a 500 mil personas que residen en el área donde está ubicada la avenida del Hipódromo, y cuyos trabajos están previstos para terminar en un período de 12 meses.
“Conscientes de que Santo Domingo Este merece un cambio, en el pasado Consejo de Gobierno celebrado hace unas semanas en el Palacio Municipal, se estableció el compromiso de llevar adelante esta obra dentro de las prioridades inmediatas”, explicó.
Expresó que ese compromiso no ha esperado mucho. “y aquí estamos para dar el primer paso de un proyecto urbano con una avenida moderna, junto a la iniciada en la víspera, la Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez, con una extensión de más de 5 kilómetros, que irá desde la avenida Charles de Gaulle hasta la base aérea de San Isidro”.
Ascención indicó que para la construcción del proyecto, el Ministerio de Obras Públicas asignó en el presupuesto de este año RD$400 millones.
Esta es la segunda vía, después de haber iniciado los trabajos de la autopista a San Isidro el pasado jueves, que el gobierno, en días consecutivos, con la presencia del presidente Abinader, deja iniciados los trabajos en este municipio, sumando más de 1,500 millones de pesos de inversión en ambas construcciones.
“Otra prueba más que desde el MOPC trabajamos de cerca con las alcaldías y las comunidades organizadas de todo el país, trabajamos cumpliendo el compromiso de cambio del presidente Abinader, con transparencia y eficiencia, y escuchamos, evaluamos y respondemos a las necesidades de la gente”, afirmó Ascención.
