José Ignacio Paliza, presidente del Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) aseguró que esta organización ha tenido posiciones coherentes desde su fundación y que la asumida respecto a la nueva Junta Central Electoral (JCE) no es nueva, sino que va a tono con su permanente demanda de que haya organismos independientes, que puedan realizar una labor con calidad.
En un documento de prensa José Ignacio Paliza quien además es ministro Administrativo de la Presidencia, citó entre estos organismos al Poder Judicial, el Ministerio Público, la JCE, el Tribunal Constitucional (TC) y el Tribunal Superior Electoral (TSE), estructuras en las que -según dijo- los colores partidarios no son los que deben regir.
“Hemos sido víctima durante mucho tiempo de juntas que no estuvieron a la altura del momento”, dijo Paliza para agregar que la posición asumida por el PRM no es nueva y es producto de esfuerzos de cambio que tenían que ser impulsados.
“Queremos ser diferentes a quienes nos han gobernado, que cuando tuvieron la oportunidad se lo cogieron todo para imponerlo todo; el presidente Luis Abinader fue enfático en que mantuviéramos coherencia”, agregó.
Resaltó los valores humanos y profesionales del Doctor Eddy Olivares quien fue propuesto por el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) para presidir la JCE, pero finalmente fue descartado.
Alegó que el apoyo de ese partido opositor no buscacaba otra cosa que dividir y colocar al PRM en contraposiciones.
“No es fácil el tema del compañero Eddy porque todos conocemos de sus cualidades, siempre tuvo comportamientos y actitudes correctas cuando fue juez titular de la JCE, pero esa hoy no es la discusión”.
“No es una posición contra un compañero con esas cualidades, sino (eñ deseo) de mantener coherencia en un tema como éste. No podemos fallarle al país, tampoco a los lineamientos de nuestro partido, fundado hace ya alrededor de seis años con el propósito de fortalecer el sistema democrático e institucional del país”, dijo Paliza.
