Reconocen al banco por tercera vez por poner en marcha y respetar buenas prácticas medioambientales
El Banco de Reservas recibió cuatro certificaciones en Sostenibilidad 3Rs, mención oro, por sus buenas prácticas medioambientales en tres oficinas y en la sede de Seguros Banreservas, instalaciones que cumplen con parámetros de inclusión y cuidado del medio ambiente.
Esta es la tercera vez que la institución financiera recibe el galardón. En esta ocasión fueron premiadas sus instalaciones: Torre Banreservas, el edificio Bella Vista 27, localizado en la avenida 27 de Febrero; el Complejo Tecnológico Banreservas (CTB) y el edificio de Seguros Banreservas, estos dos últimos situados en la Churchill con José Contreras.
Las certificaciones constituyen un reconocimiento a la entidad bancaria por convertirse en una empresa sostenible, que pone un especial cuidado en el ahorro de recursos, el manejo adecuado de los residuos y en fortalecer su cultura del cuidado ambiental.
El ministro de Medio Ambiente, Orlando Jorge Mera, y Ginny Heinsen, presidenta de Sostenibilidad 3R’s, entregaron los certificados a Fraysis Moronta; directora general senior de Capital Humano, Procesos, Tecnología y Operaciones; July Mejía Capell, directora general de Capital Humano; Sabrina Andújar, directora del Voluntariado Banreservas, y Jesús González García, gerente de Salud y Seguridad Ocupacional.
“Para nosotros estos premios tienen un significado muy especial, porque simbolizan, a un tiempo, la visión transformadora de Banreservas y el compromiso de sus colaboradores con la cultura de sostenibilidad”, dijo Moronta.
Al recibir las certificaciones, Moronta expresó: “Nos complace felicitar a todos los miembros de la familia Banreservas, porque sabemos que estos galardones tienen una dimensión colectiva, porque las iniciativas del banco para preservar el medioambiente se apoyan en miles de decisiones personales cotidianas y voluntarias que son dignas de reconocimiento.”
La cuarta edición de estos galardones también estuvo encabezada por Victor Bisonó, ministro de Industria, Comercio y Mipymes, y Takayuki Kondo, director regional de la Agencia de Cooperación Internacional de Japón.
En 2019, nueve de las oficinas de Banreservas, ubicadas en Santo Domingo y Santiago, obtuvieron certificación en la categoría oro, tres en plata y ocho en bronce.
Cuidado del medioambiente
Entre las acciones de 2020 que convirtieron a Banreservas en merecedor de estas certificaciones se encuentran: 41 sistemas fotovoltaicos de inyección y 20 sistemas fotovoltaicos de cargas, instalados en 61 oficinas.
Además, el año pasado se logró reciclar 7,154 kilogramos de cartón; 54,658 kilogramos de papel; 5,330 kilogramos de metal y 377 libras de plástico. Para esos fines, el Banco cuenta con 3,000 estaciones de reciclaje de papel, plástico y cartón. Actualmente hay 8 estaciones instaladas y 11 en proceso de instalación.
