Nizao, Peravia. – El Banco Popular Dominicano y la Alcaldía de Nizao entregaron a la medallista olímpica Marileidy Paulino y a representantes de su comunidad natal Don Gregorio la cancha deportiva del municipio, remozada y ampliada con nuevas áreas de recreo, para beneficio de los jóvenes y familias de la localidad.
Las nuevas instalaciones se diseñaron para que este municipio cuente con un lugar de sano esparcimiento, fomente la práctica deportiva y el bienestar de sus pobladores.
Niños de la comunidad de Don Gregorio comparten junto a la atleta Marileidy Paulino en el Área de picnic de la cancha remozada.
Para ello se construyó una verja y acera perimetral del entorno, se habilitaron nuevos baños y se instaló una cisterna de 3,000 galones con sistema de bombeo. También se cambió el sistema de iluminación, se trabajó en el paisajismo y en la señalización. Los usuarios cuentan con un espacio rotulado y con un área de picnic y de juegos infantiles.
Además, el Banco Popular diseñó alrededor del perímetro de la cancha una pista para caminantes y corredores, lo que agrega valor en términos de salud y bienestar a los habitantes que la utilicen.
También se elaboró un mural que exalta la figura de deportistas nativos de esta localidad, incluyendo a la atleta Marileidy Paulino, que funge como embajadora de la marca Popular.
El remozamiento completo de la instalación deportiva forma parte de las iniciativas que la organización financiera acordó con Marileidy Paulino y fue ejecutado por el equipo de Ingeniería y Mantenimiento del Popular, con un monto de inversión que ascendió a RD$8 millones.

En este sentido, el señor Christopher Paniagua, presidente ejecutivo del Banco Popular, resaltó que Marileidy Paulino es “un ejemplo de superación, gracias a sus valores, a un sano espíritu competitivo y al arrojo para marcarse metas y luchar por ellas. Es una mujer con propósito”
Asimismo, expresó que, con este aporte, “profundizamos nuestro compromiso de empresa socialmente responsable y logramos que Don Gregorio sea una comunidad más inclusiva y de mayores oportunidades para los jóvenes”.

Por su parte, el alcalde del municipio de Nizao, señor Eleazar Guerrero, manifestó su agradecimiento con la entidad financiera por “tomar en cuenta” a la comunidad de Don Gregorio. “Qué bueno que hemos encontrado su mano amiga”, subrayó el alcalde.
En tanto, al recibir la cancha remozada, la atleta olímpica Marileidy Paulino valoró significativamente el proyecto y dijo estar “más que agradecida con este gran aporte que ha hecho el Banco Popular aquí en Nizao”. “Tengo fe de que, así como yo he podido lograr todo esto, otros jóvenes tendrán la oportunidad de hacerlo”, puntualizó la medallita olímpica.
