A través del Comité Intersindical de la Mujer Trabajadora (CIMTRA) centrales sindicales desarrolla taller

Las centrales sindicales), Confederación Autónoma Sindical Clasista (CASC),   Confederación Nacional de Trabajadores Dominicanos (CNTD) y la Confederación Nacional de Unidad Sindical (CNUS) a través de su Comité Intersindical de la Mujer Trabajadora (CIMTRA) y con el acompañamiento de la Confederación Sindical de Trabajadores/as de las Américas (CSA) nuestra filial de la región, desarrollan el Taller Nacional  Trabajo y Economía de Cuidados amparados en un sistema de seguridad social incluyente que sirva para fortalecer la organización sindical de trabajadoras y trabajadores de cuidados, a partir de un proceso de identificación de las necesidades, desafíos y posibilidades para las mismas, que tienen que ver con la inversión para el empleo y servicios de calidad,  trabajo decente y protección social.

La presencia del Secretariado de la CSA en el evento, encabezada por su Secretario General Rafael Freire y de la Secretaria general adjunta de la Confederación Sindical Internacional (CSI) Jordania Ureña, así como de los presidentes de las confederaciones sindicales dominicanas, es una muestra de que el  movimiento sindical mundial  apuesta a una mejor valoración del trabajo en  la economía de los cuidados realizado mayoritariamente por mujeres en sectores prioritarios  como la salud, la educación, trabajo del hogar, alimentación, seguridad y protección, campesinas,  y otros grupos vinculados como las/os trabajadores/as informales.

El taller se propone hacer un análisis del contexto dominicano, de sus políticas públicas y las propuestas para la organización sindical, entre ellas la seguridad social y  la corresponsabilidad familiar,  en vista que el convenio 156 de la OIT ha sido adoptado y no ratificado por el país,  lo cual es una necesidad para el movimiento sindical por  el carácter vinculante como legislación laboral,  para que haya una buena práctica de cumplimiento en el fortalecimiento de las políticas públicas de cuidados y avanzar en la igualdad laboral tanto en el sector público como privado.

También identificar las experiencias de afiliación que contribuyan a la actualización de la organización, formación y comunicación.

El evento en el que participan sindicatos de la salud, la alimentación, la educación, trabajo doméstico, cuidados a domicilio informal y campesinos afiliado/as a las confederaciones  sindicales  CNUS, CNTD, CASC  cuenta con el apoyo del proyecto OPC/Republica Dominicana de Seguridad Social de la LO/Suecia.
