Mediante el decreto número 561-21, el presidente Luis Abinader dispuso la entrega en extradición a los Estados Unidos del dominicano Juan José de la Cruz Morales (Wandy) implicado en la Operación Falcón.
En el decreto, se enumeraron al menos siete cargos por los cuales Wandy fue pedido en extradición por el país norteamericano.
También indica que los Estados Unidos hizo la solicitud diplomática de extradición el pasado 23 de agosto mediante su embajada en el país.
Entre los cargos que tiene el imputado están los de asociación ilícita, así como auxiliarse incitarse entre sí y a otros para importar a los Estados Unidos, desde un lugar en el exterior, una sustancia controlada de droga narcótica, específicamente cocaína.
También aparece el cargo de asociación ilícita para cometer un delito en contra de los Estados Unidos, a saber: “dirigir y tratar de dirigir transacciones financieras que afecten el comercio interestatal y extranjero, a saber, al recibir aproximadamente un millón de dólares americanos en efectivo, por enviar un cargamento de 700 kilogramos de cocaína”.
