El Senado de la República reconoce al Instituto tecnológico San Ignacio de Loyola de Dajabón

Santo Domingo. 16-06-2021.- En un acto encabezado por el presidente del Senado de la República, Eduardo Estrella (Santiago), la Cámara Alta entregó un pergamino de reconocimiento al Instituto de Tecnológico San Ignacio de Loyola en la provincia Dajabón, por sus aportes durante 75 años de labor ininterrumpida a la excelencia de la educación dominicana y al desarrollo económico, político y social en beneficio de la sociedad. 

Al pronunciar las palabras centrales, el presidente del Senado destacó los aportes del Loyola Dajabón. “Una institución que es un referente de enseñanza en la educación técnico-profesional y en valores; desde que yo recuerdo, los ganaderos y las fincas esperaban a esos graduados de Loyola, porque sabían que salían con una formación tanto técnica como humana que no fallarían en el mercado laboral.  El país necesita que eso se promueva cada día más”, dijo Estrella. 

Estrella consideró que la mano de obra que se requiere para impulsar el desarrollo del Muelle de Manzanillo, la generación de gas natural, así como la instalación del astillero debe salir de los habitantes de los pueblos fronterizos.

“El deseo del presidente y de nosotros es que esos técnicos no tengan que llevarse de Santo Domingo o de Santiago, sino que sean gente de la zona, pero para eso tenemos precisamente  que capacitar, y qué mejor que a través del Loyola; una institución que garantiza eficiencia, enseñanza y honestidad”,  añadió el presidente del Senado.

De su lado, el senador de Dajabón y proponente de la Resolución, David Sosa, consideró que el Loyola es la oportunidad que tienen los pobres de poder lograr una carrera técnica.

“Quiero destacar que la frontera no es sólo problemas; lamentablemente a diario salen noticias negativas de la frontera, queremos decir que en la frontera también tenemos proyectos bonitos como el Loyola de Dajabón”, dijo el senador David Sosa.

Al pronunciar las palabras de agradecimiento, el director del Instituto Tecnológico San Ignacio de Loyola, Padre José Ramón López, destacó los aportes del centro educativo en la provincia Dajabón desde su fundación en el 1946.

“El instituto ha pasado por varias etapas de transformación desde su fundación, formando en primer lugar maestros en cultivos, luego en el 1978 pasa a formar bachilleres agrícolas, y una segunda transformación importante se da en el 1993, cuando entran por primera vez mujeres a estudiar al instituto; debo decirle que en la actualidad el 65 por ciento de los estudiantes son mujeres, siendo el programa de agronomía el más poblado”, dijo el director de Loyola.

En el considerando quinto, la Resolución establece que, durante sus años de servicios, el Instituto Tecnológico San Ignacio de Loyola (ITESIL), se ha convertido en la casa de cientos de estudiantes de escasos recursos económicos de la zona, donde se han graduado cerca de tres mil jóvenes en diferentes áreas técnicas: agronomía, ebanistería, enfermería, mecánica industrial, electricidad e informática.

Participaron en el acto los senadores Eduardo Estrella (Santiago), presidente del Senado; Santiago José Zorrilla, vicepresidente del Senado; David Sosa (Dajabón); Faride Raful (Distrito Nacional); Ramón Pimentel (Montecristi); y Milcíades Franjul (Peravia).
