Diputado Eduard Espiritusanto somete proyecto que busca crear casas de acogidas para pacientes de cáncer.

Santo Domingo. – El Legislador por la Romana, Eduard Espiritusanto, sometió ante la Cámara de Diputados el proyecto de ley que crea en todo el territorio nacional las casas de acogida para pacientes con cáncer, las cuales serían una dependencia del Ministerio de Salud Pública y el Instituto Nacional del Cáncer conjuntamente.

El proyecto busca que los ciudadanos con cáncer en etapa avanzada y que debido al cuidado y atenciones especializadas que requieren no pueden estar en sus casas, tengan un espacio donde reciban esa atención medica especializada, ya que los hospitales oncológicos del país no cuentan con el espacio para acogerlos.

El legislador refirió que ese constituye un problema de salud pública y de derechos humanos, lo que obliga al Estado a asumir políticas públicas con relación a garantizar el derecho a la salud de los pacientes.

“Urge la necesidad de crear casas de acogidas para pacientes de cáncer en virtud de que las camas en los hospitales oncológicos del país son insuficientes para atender la demanda de pacientes que requieren de ingresos, lo que es motivo de suspensión de operaciones y asistencias médicas por no tener camas o espacio suficiente”, manifestó el diputado por la Fuerza del Pueblo.
