Nueve de cada 10 empresas hacen negocio con el Banco Popular

Reafirma su rol como catalizador de desarrollo empresarial en el país

Santo Domingo, D.N. – El Banco Popular Dominicano, en el marco del Día Nacional de la Empresa Privada, informó que nueve de cada diez empresas dominicanas hacen negocio con la entidad bancaria, en concreto, 11,777 pymes grandes, empresas y corporaciones de un universo total de 13,076 unidades, según el registro de contribuyentes de la Dirección General de Impuestos Internos (DGII) y otros registros de actividad empresarial, actualizados al mes de abril de este año.

Estos datos contemplan aquellas empresas que cuentan con algún tipo de relación comercial con esta entidad bancaria y cuyo tamaño tiene un efecto multiplicador real en la economía, siendo además creadoras de empleo. Específicamente, generan 684,361 empleos directos, representando el 31.5% de todos los empleos formales existentes en el país, según las estadísticas de la Encuesta Continua del Mercado de Trabajo.

Por sector económico, estas pymes de tamaño grande y empresas se concentran en el comercio al por menor y al por mayor, los seguros, automóviles, el turismo, la fabricación de productos y la construcción. Los productos de su preferencia en el Banco Popular son las cuentas bancarias, seguido de las tarjetas de crédito y los préstamos.

En el año 2021 se crearon 174 empresas con esta clasificación. De este total, 140 empresas, equivalentes al 80%, poseen al menos un producto financiero con el Popular.

Digitalidad y amplio aporte de empleos

La amplia presencia de la digitalidad entre las empresas que hacen negocio con el Popular es un signo distintivo de estos clientes. El 92% se encuentra afiliado al Internet Banking Popular, la plataforma de banca en línea de la entidad bancaria. En tanto, el 43% alcanza el nivel de expertos digitales, lo cual facilita la gestión diaria de sus operaciones financieras y un mejor control de la empresa.

Estas cifras revelan el apoyo constante y el nivel de relacionamiento de la entidad bancaria con los sectores productivos del país, reafirmando la vocación del banco de ser un catalizador de desarrollo sostenible de la nación, en lo económico, lo social y lo medioambiental.
